style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dating back in the 4th century BC, Ancient Greeks brought a vine to this sunny island, and planted it in the fertile Stari Grad Plain.\nThrough centuries of rich past\/history, Hvar residents skillfully nurtured their vines, giving them all the effort and splendor of the Mediterranean.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our vineyards and olive groves are predominantly located in the area of cadastral municipalities Vrbanj and Stari Grad. We cultivate 2 hectares of vineyards and 5 hectares of olive groves, all of which are located within the protected area of Stari Grad Plain. The field on which all our plots are located (the ancient Greeks called it: \u201cFaroska hora\u201d; the Romans called it: \u201cAger\u201d), in 2008 was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The plots take their place in the best preserved ancient Greek landscape in the Mediterranean. These fields still have their traditional names: Dra\u010devica, Pre\u0161ica, Ori\u0161ac, Ograda, Igrali\u0161\u0107e, Ra\u0161nik, Parhni\u0161\u0107e, Frekovica, Turbalovo, Podborje i Krastavica. The wine cellar is located in Vrbanj, in an area called Vir.<\/span><\/p><p>Work in the vineyard is just as important to us as work in the winery. Our vineyards consist of local vine varieties (Plavac mali, Bogdanu\u0161a) and locally adapted varieties (Merlot, Trebbiano Toscano, Po\u0161ip, KU\u010c).
